Vulnerable Populations: Share with us that certain population groups in the US face greater challenges than the general population in accessing timely and needed health care services. These population groups consist of racial and ethnic minorities, uninsured children, women, those living in rural areas, the homeless, the mentally ill, the chronically ill and disabled, and those with human immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV). These populations are more vulnerable than the general population and experience greater barriers in access to care, financing of care, and racial or cultural acceptance.
